Shel Holtz has posted a fab article over at his blog ” A Shel of my former self” called “Julia Hood of PRWeek elevates internal communications’ importance“. I’m pointing this out not only as it’s very worthwhile read (and it does what it says on the tin) but most particularly for this quote:
“When your ship is sinking, you don’t throw your radio overboard.” Dave Orman

Thanks for the shout-out. FYI, my boss at ARCO in the mid-70s and early 80s (and friend to this day) is Dave Orman, with no “G”. He’s one of the people responsible for lifting internal communications out of the house organ era and into the strategic management function many companies embrace today.
the terror of the typo – fixed
So good too see Shel & Dave on the “Web.” Both are special to
me as I reflect on our ARCO “daze.”
